<p>The latest research confirmed both nutritional and therapeutic human’s milk value, which are particularly important in the case of preterm delivery. Providing premature infants human milk requires effort pumping mothers and also need develop and implement standards for the storage and transport of milk and workload of staff. Properly handling mother milk is not only safe food but also part of the treatment of immature newborn. Application of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guarantees the security of administered food and minimizes the loss of both qualitative and quantitative of mother’s milk. It also allows traceability of each portion of milk that the baby receives. Proposed the following Critical Control Points in the procedures necessary to deliver the milk from mother to newborn in the NICU:<br /><br />1. written confirmation from the mother, received instructions on the rules of pumping, storage and handling of breast milk at the hospital. Agreement to follow by the rules.<br />2. written confirmation of compliance with its procedures for disinfection and sterilization of equipment and lactation accessories by medical professional responsible for supervising the enforcement procedure by the parents.<br />3. verify that label of bottle with milk received form mother is complete, correct and suit her infant’s account number. Document that all bottles have been verified with the receiving unit.<br />4. written confirmation of compliance of temperature of refrigerator/freezer and timing suitability of milk for consumption and the duration of the feeding. <br /><br />Within each stage are developed good manufacturing practice (GCP) that facilitate the realization of the procedure, so that the CCP meet accepted standards. These include:<br />- usage of illustrated leaflets, brochures and movies explaining the rules of hygiene required for the collection of milk,<br />- sharing mothers lactation rooms equipped with microwaves allow disinfection lactation accessories “Quick clean” bags<br />- usage complete preprinted label including the information require to identify the baby and mother’s milk in each stage of handing the milk<br />- equipping of refrigerator/freezer in additional alarming of temperature changes and verify of suitability terms of milk consumption.</p>
